Hezy Aspis, CEO

Mr. Aspis has more than 25 years of experience in engineering and management of leading Israeli electronic industries. Mr. Aspis holds a BSc degree from the Technion, the Israel Institute of Technology and MBA degree from Tel-Aviv University.

Dr. Chen Barak, COO

Dr. Chen Barak has more than 20 years of proven experience in the development and commercialization of medical devices. She has held multiple managerial positions in the medical device industry at Florence Medical Ltd. and FlowMedic Ltd. Prior to joining Nicast, Chen served as the General Manager of Gardia Medical for more than 6 years. Dr. Barak graduated from the Technion Institute in Haifa, Israel and received her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at UT Southwestern, Dallas, TX.

Dr. Amnon Gildor, Medical Director

Dr. Gildor has 5 years clinical practice of general surgery and over 10 years of experience in development and clinical studies of various medical devices. Dr. Gildor holds an MD degree from Tel-Aviv University and an MPH degree in Public Health from the MHH, Medical School of Hannover, Germany.

Dr. Claudia M. Barzilay, Director, Wound Care

Dr. Barzilay has extensive experience in the field of Biotech, Medical Devices and Pharmaceuticals. Prior to joining Nicast, Claudia served as Project Manager, Scientific Advisor and VP R&D, gaining vast knowledge in Research, GMP Regulations, Patent writing and Business Development. She received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Technion- Israel Institute of Technology, pursued postdoctoral research at Stanford University, CA- USA and achieved a Researcher and Lecturer position at the Hebrew University.

Professor Josef Haik, M.D; MPH

Prof. Dr. Josef Haik (born 1966, Ramat Gan, Israel) is a specialist in Aesthetic & Reconstruction Plastic Surgery and Burns. Prof Haik is the director of the National Intensive Care Burn Unit and Director of the Division of Plastic & Reconstructive at the Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer Hospital, Ramat Gan Israel, affiliated to the Tel Aviv University. Prof. Haik is a Professor in the Faculty of Surgery at Tel Aviv University.

Prof Haik completed his medical studies in 1994 at the University of Bologna, Italy and is a specialist in plastic surgery since 2002.

Prof Haik completed felowship in Plastic Surgery in Sao Paulo, Brazil and in the ICU, Burns in the Hospital of the University of Alberta, Canada.

Prof. Haik has a Master Degree in Public Health (MPH), Disasters management since 2008.

Prof Haik is a member and chairman of the American Burn Association. He is a member in the Israeli Association for Aesthetic plastic surgery, the Israel Medical Association, the International Association for Aesthetic Surgery and the Israeli Association for healing wounds.

Prof. Haik contributed to chapters in medical textbooks and published numerous articles.

Professor Raphael Walden, MD

Professor of Surgery

Professor Walden has more than 30 years’ experience in Vascular Surgery. He has worked at the Sheba Medical Center in Israel, the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and the Salpetriere Medical Center in Paris. At the Sheba Medical Center he was Chairman of the Surgical Division (including 18 various surgical departments) where he pioneered non-invasive vascular studies. He has also served as a medical consultant to the government of Singapore. Professor Walden has published more than 90 peer-reviewed papers and has authored book chapters on clinical and experimental topics relating to vascular surgery. In addition to his clinical work, Professor Walden is involved in projects of quality control and patient safety.

Professor Maurizio Gallieni, MD

Doctor Gallieni has more than 25 years of clinical practice and research in Nephrology. He has published more than 130 peer-reviewed papers and is a member of the editorial board of leading worldwide scientific journals in the field of Nephrology. Doctor Gallieni also participates in teaching activities and tutorship at University of Milano. He is a member of the Nephrology and Vascular Access scientific societies in Italy, Europe and the USA and served as a medical consultant to several pharmaceutical companies in Italy.
